We're blessed to stock the most sweetest, kindest peoples labels in our store - and sissy duo Fantastic Baby Shaka are no exception. We grabbed 5 mins with Sinead & Lani when they stopped by our store, these Melbourne based babes are a couple of years into their fashion takeover of Melbourne with no sign of slowing.
Tibbs: "I wanted to ask ya'll - what is your favourite part about running your label together?
'Lani: "I love working with my sister, being creative & creating what we like - as well as growing the brand organically."
Tibbs: "So sissy duo, how it is working together? Do you often have conflicting views or is it fun most of the time?"
Sinead: "I love it - it is a dream job to work with my sister. The fact that we get to call each other every day and have creative conversations as well as the business side. It's so nice to have somebody who understands you - it's awesome. We don't fight!"
Tibbs: "I find that hard to believe, but I actually believe it because you're the sweetest angels in the world. I wanted to ask - what is a self care tip or some mental health advice you had for other small business owners? Because it can be really tough & challenging - and quite isolating. Do you have a go-to or a recommendation?"
Lani: "I am obsessed with hot pilates, that is my thing. I also love writing lists and making sure i'm doing other things outside of our business."
Sinead: "The gym. I lift weights, and that is my switch off time. It's when I don't have to do emails, or look at Instagram - just having that moment of stepping away. Finding passions outside of the business is also really important & making time for them."
Tibbs: "I love that because I think often our hobbies can become intertwined with our passion - and that can become a hard mesh of the two. So - finally, what is your favourite piece from your collection currently?"
Lani - "Mine is the "Meadow Mini" the black lace with a red rose - I just think it is so gorgeous."
Sinead - "I love the Paradise Dress with the butterflies on it - they are all individually sewn on & it is such a cute and versatile dress. Plus it's stretchy! So it's comfortable - I love it."
Tibbs - "Mine is the Latte Dress - I know no-one asked but that's my favourite currently! hehe Well thank you! We love you guys & think you are the sweetest humans - thanks for stocking in our world!
